Kitchen Hand  

The kitchen hand will undertake general kitchen preparations as directed by the kitchen chefs and participate in keeping the kitchen clean and tidy throughout their shift. They will also be responsible, under the guidance of the chefs, for serving meals during the evening service.

The ideal candidate will ensure that all food is prepared safely and efficiently, the areas used for services are set up, maintained, and cleaned to provide a welcoming environment for students and staff. The ideal candidate needs to be reliable, punctual, have strong organisational skills, a strong work ethic, and be able to work unsupervised at times.

Key responsibilities

• General kitchen preparation.
• Cook off foods under guidelines of the chef.
• Safely facilitate and serve meals for clients.
• Setup, pack down and clean of serving area.
• Knowledge of food Safety and handling Practices.
• Knowledge to accommodate special dietary needs and food allergies.
• Maintain positive relationships with clients and Team Members.

Requirements  

• Australian Citizen/Permanent Resident or hold a valid Work Visa in Australia.
• Comfortability with working hours which may include occasional tasks outside normal working hours.
• Must be fluent in English.
• Strong time management and organisation skills with ability to focus on priorities, solve problems, juggle multiple tasks, and work Independently.

Compliance Requirements 

• Hold and keep current NSW WWCC
• Desire to learn company Dietary policy and procedures.
• Is aware and follow manual handling guidelines.

Experience 

• Experience in the Kitchen environment desirable.
  Knowledge of Dietary Needs desirable.
